Resumé
Vicki L Jones is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Jones began her career as a Design Assistant at London Fog Rainwear. Her love of theatre led her to design costumes for local theatre companies. Choosing to pursue costume design exclusively, Ms. Jones moved to New York City accepting the position of Wardrobe Supervisor for the Negro Ensemble Company. She designed for the NEC, New Federal Theatre and Billie Holiday Theatre, costuming such notable actors as Denzel Washington, S. Epatha Merkerson, Barbara Montgomery, John Amos and Phylicia Rashad. She supervised costumes on numerous productions working with actors, Samuel L Jackson, Jackee Harry, Debi Morgan, James L. Pickens and David Alan Grier. Ms. Jones has worked with directors Woodie King Jr., Spike Lee, Melvin Van Peebles and Samm-Art Williams.
After relocating to Baltimore in the late nineties, Ms. Jones established Bethesda Arts, Inc., a not-for-profit theatre company. While the company is currently dark, Ms. Jones is accepting scripts for development.
Ms. Jones graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a BA in Clothing Design. She studied Theatre Management at New York University and Television Writing at Morgan State University in Baltimore. Ms Jones received her Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University. She is
the Vice-President of the Baltimore
Chapter of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization of executives who work to advance the status of women.
Ms. Jones is a member of the Baltimore Chapter of NAFAD, the National Association of Fashion and Accessory Designers. Ms. Jones is an active member of Rock City Church in Baltimore Maryland.
